Meet Our Chapter

Safe Families for Children (SFFC) of  Maine is committed to serving families in crisis by resourcing and partnering with the local church, where families open their hearts and lives to vulnerable children and families. Parents in need ask SFFC to host their children in the safety of the host home, while parents handle their crisis situation. The SFFC team – Circle of Support: host family, family friends, family coaches, resource families – reaches out to the placing parents as well.

SFFC Maine started in 2010 with the belief in the Safe Families’ vision that Jesus calls us to defend the cause of the weak and the fatherless. Since our humble beginnings, we have increased the footprint of Safe Families to include several counties – Washington, Hancock, Penobscot, Kennebec, Androscoggin, Mid-Coast, Cumberlan, and York -nto rural, town, and city regions of Maine. Our goal is simple: to empower the church to help restore families and protect children from unnecessary harm or non-voluntary removal from their families, into the foster care system.

Join us in seeing Maine communities transformed through this movement of hope and compassion!  Follow us on Facebook for updates.
